Welcome to Aspire2Higher!
Who is Aspire2Higher?
I am a single mother with drive and lots of ambition. My name is Stephanie Reed. I have over 10 years experience in the field of career development and higher education. During my “wonderful” twenties, I ventured out of the world of academia and entered the sales profession where I served as a Territory Sales Manager for Philip Morris, USA.
This is who I am as a professional. Throughtout my education and work experience I have always had a desire to connect my personal self to my professional self. Within me, there has always been that burning question: ” What am I suppose to be doing with my life?!?” That little voice in my head wonders: “Can I actually have a career that is both personally and professionally satisfyiing?” What I’ve discovered is that YES I CAN, but I will have to create my own success!
Who I am as a person, is a single mother of two small children who are the center of my world! Any plans I make or dreams I strive to achieve have these two little ones at the core! I’d like to provide them with an example of how to be good at whatever you do and always aspire for more!
Most recently, I have returned to the college campus as the Assistant Director of the Co-operative Education and Career Services office at Cabrini College. I am also currently completing my first book, which is self-help/personal development.
What is Aspire2Higher Blog about?
The purpose of this blog is to share my story with those who wish to follow. As I embark on new professional ventures I will share what it took to meet the goals I set out to accomplish. As a career counselor, some of this blog will be about the lessons of a young professional entering and navigating the world of work. I hope to share my own stories to provide insight for others. This blog will also be a place to find resources to aid others in their personal and career development.
